Visit link.eurid.eu/doteuingreek for more information about the launch of .ευ (.eu in Greek) that is scheduled for 14 November 2019.

You may register a .eu, .ею or .ευ domain name if you fulfil the following criteria:

*You represent an organisation established in: one of the European Union Member States; or Iceland, Liechtenstein or Norway.

*You are an individual: residing in one of the European Union Member States; or residing in Iceland, Liechtenstein or Norway; or a citizen of one of the European Union Member States.

First-come, first-served

Domain names are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Your desired domain name might not be available because:

  • It has already been registered by someone else.
  • European Union (EU) Member States, a member of the European Economic Area (EEA), a country in the EU accession phase, a EU institution or body, or the Registry have blocked or reserved it.

During the domain name registration process, EURid uses its award winning abuse prevention mechanism to detect possible malicious registrations.

Tips for choosing your domain name

Your domain name should be pronounceable and memorable, limit the length to two or three words.

If your desired domain name has been reserved, you can apply for its release by submitting an application. You can also use the same domain name with hyphens, or shorten it to an acronym.

Get your domain name in any official EU language (Internationalised domain names).

Visibility

If you want your products and services to be considered when consumers make their purchase decisions, having an effective online presence is crucial. With a website that signals internationality and speaks to potential customers around the globe, you broaden your market exponentially.

We provide a DNSSEC protocol which is a security measure that reduces the chance your customers will be led to phishing or other ill-intentioned websites. Our Registry Lock Service can be used to protect your domain names against potential unintended changes such as deletions or transfers.

We support multiple languages

Your domain name can contain characters from any official EU language script. We also provide assistance in all the official EU languages. Read more about IDNs.
