Brussels, 18 October 2011 – To raise .eu visibility in Bulgaria, the .eu registry, EURid, is attending the Webit Congress 2011 trade fair in Sofia (26-27 October) and sponsoring both the OpenFest and BGSite Competition events during November.
In Bulgaria, .eu registrations grew by 41% in the year to Q2 2011 and there are currently more than 20 000 .eu domain names registered to Bulgarian businesses, organisations and individuals. The .eu extension is ideally suited for businesses with cross-border operations by enabling companies to express the fact that they are open for business in other European Union markets.
.eu at Webit Congress 2011
The .eu team is available to answer questions about the benefits of being online with .eu during Webit Congress, one of Europe’s largest IT industry conventions.
Regina Fuchsova and Ginka Slavova, EURid’s Regional Manager for Central Europe and Liaison Manager for Bulgaria respectively, are available for press interviews during the fair. For more information, please contact press@eurid.eu.
OpenFest sponsor and BGSite Competition .eu category
EURid’s activities in Bulgaria continue with the sponsorship of OpenFest, an IT community event in Sofia (5-6 November). This is closely followed by the sponsorship of the “Best .eu website in Bulgaria” award at the BGSite Competition (11 November) where entrants from small- to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can showcase their websites.
