.eu’s General Manager speaking at Domain Pulse 2012, Germany

Brussels, 31 January 2012 -- EURid, the .eu registry, is attending the Domain Pulse 2012 conference in Hamburg, Germany (13-14 February 2012) where Marc Van Wesemael, General Manager, will present .eu’s recent website usage research. The study reveals that different top-level domains have clearly different profiles.

In Germany, .eu registrations grew by 5% in the year to Q3 2011 and there are currently over one million .eu domain names registered to German businesses, organisations and individuals. The .eu extension is ideally suited for businesses with cross-border operations by enabling companies to express the fact that they are open for business in other European Union markets. Indeed, .eu registrations increased in 23 of the 27 EU Member States during Q3 2011.

In addition to the General Manager’s speech, EURid’s Technical Manager, Peter Janssen, will present .eu’s upcoming open-source Domain Name System (DNS) server solution due for launch later this year.
