New member joins EURid management team

Maria Göth new Communications Manager
Brussels, 3 August 2009 – EURid is pleased to announce that Maria Göth joins EURid today as Communications Manager. A native of Sweden, Ms Göth will fulfil her duties from EURid’s Stockholm office.

EURid is the private, not-for-profit organisation contracted by the European Commission to manage the .eu top-level domain. The .eu TLD ranks among the ten largest in the world, with users such as Gucci, the MAN Group, Monchoix and the UniCredit Group.

Marc van Wesemael, EURid’s General Manager, comments: “As the European Commission noted in a recent report, the .eu top-level domain ‘has succeeded in becoming a valued option for Europeans when choosing an Internet identity’. Communications has played a crucial role in this success and Maria’s expertise will help us further raise awareness of the value of .eu.”

Ms Göth has many years of experience as a PR consultant both internationally and in Sweden. She has also worked as a journalist and editor. Most recently, Ms Göth held the position of Corporate Communications & Public Affairs Manager for Google in Scandinavia.
