3 October 2007—This coming Tuesday, 9 October, at 12:00 PM local Belgian time, the .eu name servers will cease to update five times a day and begin updating instantaneously in response to changes as they occur.

This switch to dynamic updates will be immediately noticeable to anyone who registers a .eu domain name after the swap has taken place, as the domain name they registered (as well any website or email services that are attached) will be active almost instantly. Existing holders of .eu domain names will also benefit from the switch since any changes they make to their domains will be effective immediately also.
