Prepayment & Fees

When filling out the online application form, you must select a prepayment level (minimum of €10 000). This is the amount you need to deposit into your registrar account at EURid before you can start registering and managing any .eu domain names. Fees charged for the transactions you conduct on our systems will be deducted from this deposit as they take place.

It’s important to select the right amount

Think carefully before selecting your prepayment level. If the prepayment balance in your registrar account reaches zero, you will no longer be allowed to register or manage any .eu domain names until you make a new deposit. We recommend estimating the total amount of transaction fees expected during a normal month of .eu registration and then, as a safety measure, using twice that amount as the prepayment level. (See below for a list of transaction fees.)

Once you start registering .eu domain names, we will send you a monthly invoice documenting activity over the past month. Payment of the invoice will bring the balance of your registrar account back up to the original prepayment level.

You get your money back

If, at some point, you decide you no longer want to be a .eu accredited registrar, we will transfer any remaining prepayment amount back into your account less any fees owed on outstanding invoices.

Fees

The fees listed below apply to registrars only. EURid does not set the fees for .eu transactions involving individuals or organisations, such as registering a .eu domain name. Those fees are set independently by individual registrars.
