Become a Registrar

People who want to register a .eu domain name cannot register a name directly through EURid. Instead they must go through a registrar.

Registering a domain name through a registrar is a little like buying books from a bookseller. A registrar usually provides services for many different Internet domains, including .eu, just as a bookseller sells books from many different publishers. Click here if you need to find a .eu registrar.

There are around 1000 accredited .eu registrars around the world. If your established company wants to offer .eu registration services as well, follow the steps below.

Step 1: Read the registrar agreement

Registrars must follow the rules of the EURid registrar agreement, so please read it before applying to become a registrar. Download the sample agreement in English or click here for other languages.

Step 2: Fill out the online application form

If you agree to the terms of the registrar agreement, fill out the online application form. You will be asked to provide, amongst other things:
  • Your contact information
  • The languages in which you will provide customer support
  • A prepayment level.

Step 3: Print your agreement, sign it and send it back

Once you’ve filled out the form, a personalised agreement will be generated containing all the information you’ve supplied. Print it, sign it and send it to the address found on the first page of the document.

Step 4: Make your prepayment

Pay the amount you specified in step 2 into our account (a minimum of €10 000, excluding any bank or transfer fees). Once we have received the prepayment and signed agreement, and if we determine that your company is suitable to be a .eu registrar, we will send you the information needed to access the .eu registrar extranet.
